•Effective leadership of the linehaul transportation bid process and negotiation of transportation rates with new and existing carriers, ensuring carriers meet or exceed insurance and safety standards
•Coordination with logistics operations to ensure capacity needs are addressed and supportive of internal customer requirements
•Analysis of linehaul transportation expenses to ensure pricing decisions are cost competitive, while providing the optimal combination of cost, service and equipment capacity and availability
•Development and implementation of processes to monitor direct reports against key project initiatives established for the team, while delivering ongoing process improvement
•Facilitation of timely product availability and early identification of inbound product flow issues, effectively resolving vendor capacity and scheduling concerns with vendors and buying department
•Management of forecast and budgeting for product receipts, in-transit inventory and linehaul costs, working with distribution management team to meet financial targets
We seek people with these qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics or related field
•5+ years relevant industry experience preferred
•Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
•Extensive Microsoft Excel, Word & Access experience required
•Transportation Management systems (AS400 query capabilities, PKMS warehouse management system, Oracle Transportation Management software) preferred
