What We Do – Accountabilities
• Assures sales and inventory plans are achieved
• Assures all assortment plans are based on historic assortment perspective as well as current product trends, by analyzing and sharing knowledge with cross-functional partners
• Assures effective communication with key partners
• Assures pre-season and in-season financial plans and forecasts accurately reflect category trends, including weekly pricing review
• Special job objective, tied to a Famous Footwear strategic and/or tactical initiative, as agreed upon by supervisor
Essential Functions
• Drives sales and profitability through analysis of sales and inventory data to establish recommendations for the future buying decisions, which help establish Famous Footwear as a precision retailer
• Partner with Buyers to create and execute common strategies that maximize sales, gross margin and inventory turn
• Develop, implement and continuously improve processes and programs for pre-season and in-season financial plans and forecasts (including weekly and monthly rolling operating forecasts, inventory position status, sales, margin dollars and percentage, inventory turn and weeks of supply reports)
• Implements and continuously improves processes and programs to assure assortment plans by style at the SKU level are consistently and effectively executed
• Reviews and analyzes historic assortments and applies key learning to future assortments
• While building quarterly assortment plans, partners with the buyers to assure that objectives are set, met and reviewed with the DMM/DAP
• Assures established timelines for completion of milestone events in the assortment planning process are met
• Partners with the allocation department, to assure the integrity of the original intent is executed when allocating items
• Assures all standards regarding proper inventory flow are met
Preferred Qualifications & Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
• 5+ years of retail planning and merchandising experience preferred
• Advanced Excel, Microsoft Office Suite Skills
