We seek people who deliver:
• Effective development and maintenance of reliable and secure computing infrastructure to preserve data integrity, system availability and proper functioning of computer systems
• Analysis and documentation of workflow, logical processes, hardware operating system environments and internal and external outputs and controls
• Performs IBM i Administration: system installs, PTF deployment, software installation, configuration, custom development, and security
• Monitors system activity and tunes system parameters for optimum performance
• Assists with the installation and administration of IBM i compatible operating systems
• Stays current with the latest industry technologies, trends, and issues
• Handles escalated incidents from the Operations Center
• Designs, implements and maintains core PowerHA replication to facilitate DR/HA
• In-depth IBM i hardware and operating system knowledge and all related system periphery
• Administer job scheduling tools on all IBM i systems
• Schedule and coordinate hardware maintenance and repairs with IBM as required.
• Identify, implement and maintain IBM i best practices
• Ability to provide first level of advice/assistance on procedures and work methods for software engineers and application developers
• Must be organized and able to handle multiple tasks, while working within strict schedules
• Must be able to communicate effectively with management, co-workers, customers, and vendors
We seek people with these qualifications:
• 3-5 years’ of IBM i (iSeries) experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems
• Availability to work off-hours and on-call production support
• Ability to create and maintain CL programs for automating operational tasks
Desired Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of IBM PowerHA or data replication software
• Working knowledge of networking (Ethernet , TCP/IP, DNS)
• Experience with iASP and cluster services
• Experience with LPAR, PowerVM, DS8000
• Experience supporting web services in IBM i
• Experience with Robot, Aldon, MQ, PKMS or similar tools
• Experience with RPG, DDS, and SQL
• Experience in the Retail or Wholesale industry
