House Supervisor - 0.5 FTE, Part-time, Evenings

.5 FTE - Evenings - every third weekend.

Main responsibilities: The House Supervisor, in collaboration with the attending physician and the health care team, supports and cares for patients in all areas of the critical access hospital. Serves as a resource to patient care staff for problem-solving patient acute issues, utilization of resources and policy/procedure interpretation during assigned shifts. Provides assistance and facilitates efforts of personnel from all departments in providing patient care services. Demonstrates advance knowledge to manage the patient care operations in the absence of the Senior Directors and Department Managers. Serves as on site administrative liaison for the hospital and collaborates with the on-call administrator as necessary regarding issues/problems. Responsible for resource allocation; patient placement; initiation of occupational health protocols; initiation of disaster management processes; response to crisis situations; initiation of disciplinary actions as appropriate. Assesses, admits, transfers or discharges patients and completes all necessary documentation. Performs basic patient care responsibilities as ordered by the physician and per standards of nursing care, considering age appropriate needs. Evaluates the patient’s condition and response to treatments, notifying the physician, staff nurse and other care givers as appropriate. Assesses the side effects of treatment and helps to identify additional health issues that may require medical attention. Reviews patient data for abnormal or unusual results and reports to them to the physician, documenting in the medical record. Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs. (i.e. dietary, social services, physical medicine, respiratory therapy, quality management, etc.). Works with the patient and health care team to plan and coordinate care. Provides emotional support to patients and their families.

Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Wisconsin. Current BLS Certification. ACLS Certification. PALS or ENPC Certification. TNCC Certification within six months of hire. Minimum 2 years hospital related acute care clinical experience. Neonatal life support (NRP) certification
