Oncology RN - Casual Call

Casual Call - needed to cover increased census, vacations and other time off

Responsibilities include: Working in collaboration with the oncologist, attending physician, and health care team, the Oncology Registered Nurse supports and cares for patients diagnosed with cancer. They approach patients with empathy and care; administer chemotherapy treatments, educate patients about their diseases; and manage illness and cancer-related symptoms. The RN will examine patients and take initial histories on a regular basis to evaluate patient condition and response to treatment. Will assess the side effects of treatment and identify additional health problems that may require medical attention. Will review laboratory data for abnormal or unusual results.

Requirements include: Current RN License in the State of Wisconsin. Infusion experience required. Oncology experience required. OCN preferred, however if not currently held, willing to obtain within 2 years. Clinical knowledge and independent judgment necessary to implement and direct individualized and comprehensive patient care. Able to maintain accountability for own nursing care and care delegated to others to ensure adherence to ethical and legal standards.
