Part-Time Porter
Job Summary
Responsible for general upkeep and cleaning of the grounds and common interior spaces. Collaborates with vendors and contractors on projects when necessary.
Job Duties
The duties listed below are not meant to be all inclusive, and Pennrose Management Company reserves the right to add, alter, or delete duties, with or without notice:
• Walks the grounds and common interior areas daily, removing litter and debris from lawns, planting beds, parking areas, sidewalks, ramps, and indoor spaces. Empties all trash receptacles
• Waters flowers, shrubs, and lawn. Trims lawn areas and de-weeds flower beds
• Removes snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, steps, and driveways
• Vacuums, dusts, buffs, and washes hallways, lobbies, stairwells, elevator cars, and other common interior areas
• Cleans and shampoos carpets
• Assists in preparing vacant units for occupancy, including cleaning appliances, kitchen, bathroom, and washing tile floors, windows, and all surfaces
• Collaborates with vendors and contractors on projects as needed
• Adheres to all safety guidelines in the operation of all tools and machinery
• Attends and completes all required training
• Maintains strict adherence to invoice approval policy. Position does not have authority to purchase any goods or services
Requirements
Education/Training
• High School diploma or equivalent
Experience
• 1 year general maintenance experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of tools and machinery used for ground keeping
• Ability to follow directives and work independently
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (at least 60 lbs), climb ladders up to 24 ft, stand and walk for 8 hours, and perform other physically demanding duties as directed
• Requires ability to read, speak, and comprehend the English language
Additional Requirements
• Requires the ability to travel (between properties, training, errands, etc.)
• Valid driver’s license preferred. This requirement could change depending on the staffing and needs of the property
