Hours – 0.6 (Department open M-F 0630-1930).

Responsibilities include: The Registered Nurse in Same Day Surgery plays an integral role in caring for the surgical and procedural patient, including providing direct care that meets both the physical and psychosocial needs of the patient. The RN is responsible for surgical and procedural admissions including IV starts, pre-operative assessments, physical assessments, pre-operative patient phone calls and care of the post-surgical patient in Phase 1 and Phase 2 to discharge.

Qualifications include: Registered Nurse degree from an accredited college required. Wisconsin RN license required. CPR, ACLS, PALS required. CAPA or CPAN certification preferred. Must possess sound physical assessment skills, able to prioritize and multi-task while working in a rapidly changing environment. Computer skills required with preference given to someone with Epic charting system experience. Previous experience in a same day surgery unit preferred.
